Alyssa Branch was born on October 19, 1998, in Huntsville, Alabama. She grew up in a close-knit family with her parents, Terry and Teresa Branch, and her younger sister, Ashlyn. Alyssa was a bright and ambitious student, attending Madison County High School, where she excelled in academics and extracurricular activities. Her family and friends described her as outgoing, friendly, and kind-hearted.

The UNA police department, assisted by the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the FBI, conducted an extensive search for Alyssa. They reviewed security footage, interviewed friends and acquaintances, and searched potential locations where Alyssa might have been.
