Ariadna Jennifer Saint Epub Apr 2026

Jennifer Saint’s debut novel, (often titled Ariadna in certain editions or translations), is a feminist retelling of the classic Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. It shifts the focus from the male heroes to the women—specifically Ariadne and her sister Phaedra—exploring their agency, suffering, and resilience in a world ruled by petulant gods and ambitious men. Plot Summary

Ariadne, Princess of Crete, grows up in a golden palace while her brother, the monstrous Minotaur, bellows from the Labyrinth below. When Theseus, Prince of Athens, arrives as a sacrifice for the beast, Ariadne betrays her family and country to help him kill the Minotaur, hoping for love and escape. However, her choice leads to a series of betrayals and a life of exile on the island of Naxos, where her story continues far beyond the familiar myths.
