Set in 1950, the story follows (Jonathan Majors), the first Black aviator to complete the U.S. Navy's flight training program. Brown is paired with Lieutenant Tom Hudner (Glen Powell), a recent Naval Academy graduate, as they join Fighter Squadron 32 (VF-32). Despite their different backgrounds, the two form a deep bond while training with powerful but dangerous F4U-4 Corsair planes.
