If you boot up Windows with the GPS already plugged in and receiving satellite signals, Windows may mistake the incoming stream of NMEA serial data for a legacy serial computer mouse. This causes your on-screen cursor to jump randomly. To prevent this, always boot up your PC first, and plug the GPS module in after the OS has fully loaded.
