Inside the hotel, they embark on a magical journey of self-discovery, encountering whimsical characters voiced by a star-studded cast: : A talking chimp bellhop and chauffeur. Joined by Mrs

Guided by the spirit of Michael Jackson—who appears throughout the hotel in various forms, including a bat, a dancing jack-o'-lantern, and the Man in the Moon—Vincent and Victoria find the courage to stand up to Conformity. The special's soundtrack features over , including "Thriller," "Bad," and "Billie Jean," which are woven into the plot to help the characters find their true calling.

In the 2017 animated special , the story centers on two young millennials, Vincent (voiced by Lucas Till) and Victoria (voiced by Kiersey Clemons), who "accidentally" cross paths on Halloween night. Vincent is a grocery store clerk who dreams of being a DJ but feels pressured by his father to take over the family business.
